The beginnings of Rise Bake Shoppe dates back over 40 years, when The Country Table was founded in 1983 by Roy and Fran Sauder. The Country Table evolved in the decades that followed, offering a variety of services including a full service restaurant, banquet facilities, a deli, catering, and even a gift shop.

In 2000, my parents—Tom Sr. and Roe Daly—took over the restaurant from John and Reba Buckwalter. I (Jacquelynne Hess) had the joy of growing up in it. I spent 14 years as a cake decorator, and all 22 years alongside my parents, learning the heart and craft of a made-from-scratch restaurant and bakery. In 2017, my brother Tom and his wife Jessica carried the family tradition forward, taking ownership and reimagining the bakery as Rise Bake Shoppe.

Rise was more than a new name—it was a reflection of growth, resilience, and hope. Rise is a bakery term that embodies the upward progress we desire for our team, business, customers and community. It is a process word, like a cake that’s moving upward but isn’t quite done baking yet. We are all a work-in-progress. Through the challenges of the pandemic years, Tom and Jessica held fast to values of excellence, community, and creativity. These same values continue to shape our future.

Tom & Jessica Daly first met at Rise Bake Shoppe in 2004. After marrying in 2008, they would go on to own and operate Rise beginning in 2017 through July 2025

In 2025, Tom felt called to pursue a life of ministry—another kind of service that speaks to the heart. With his full support and blessing, I stepped into ownership, bringing with me not only decades of experience but a deep love for this place and the people it serves.

Even though we are continuing to change, the recipe of what makes us who we are remains the same., my vision is to continue honoring our history while embracing the future. Rise Bake Shoppe remains committed to scratch baking, excellent service, and meaningful connection. But we’re also dreaming ahead—expanding our coffee shop, creating warm spaces where people can gather, and deepening our role as a place where community happens.

We will continue to serve our second and third generation customers through birthday cakes, wedding days, and quality time over a good cup of coffee. We’re so grateful for your loyalty and friendship. And if you’re just finding us now—welcome! I can’t wait to share this next season with you.
